Hey, my name is Pete and I'm a wedding videographer and filmmaker based in Chorley, Lancashire.
It has been my dream to be a full time filmmaker since I was a teenager and I finally find myself in the position to make that happen. I have studied film through college and University but truth be told, the a-levels and degree that I got were far less important to me than simply having the opportunity to make films. There's something incredibly special about finding that thing you love. I still make short films to this day. Although the films I make now tend to be titled things like 'Sunrise at Yarrow Valley Country Park' as opposed to what the films I made in my teenage years were called like 'Slush', a trilogy of films about a man's futile efforts to drink a slush puppie in peace (yes, believe it or not we managed to stretch this concept into a trilogy of films).
As far as becoming a wedding videographer goes, my guess is I caught the bug the same way a lot of people do. I had a friends wedding and thought, wedding video, that'd be a nice present. Then after that video there was another friend and then another. And then I was hooked. It's a unique feeling to capture and create a film for a couple on the biggest day of their lives. A wedding is an absolute whirlwind day for a couple. Impossible to take everything in. Some of the best feedback I get from couples is how much they loved seeing their guests having fun at their wedding. Something they had been too busy to see on the day. For me, A wedding film is a time capsule of a couples best day. One that allows them to relive that day, over and over, as often as they want. That's just one of the many reasons I love my job.
My Style?
To be honest I don't consider myself to have a specific style. My natural approach to filming weddings is documentary style with cinematic elements throughout. I believe your wedding film should be as unique as your wedding. I like to let the day dictate the direction of the film as opposed to me dictating your wedding to fit some idea of a film I may have had. You and your guests will find that for the majority of the day I will drift into the crowd barely noticed. I favour capturing natural moments in time that feel genuine and unobtrusive. I want you to enjoy your wedding day!
I Want To Hear Your Ideas!
I am absolutely open to hearing any ideas you have. This is a collaboration between us both and discussing your ideas and mine will only make your film better. Whether meeting in person, over the phone or just chatting online, I am always available to talk at any time leading up to your wedding.
